Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit their full papers for consideration in the publication projects associated with the 19ᵗʰ International & 55ᵗʰ Annual ELTAI Conference. All submissions will undergo a multi-level review process in accordance with the standards followed by ELTAI and its publication partners.

Only registered presenters who attended and presented at the conference are eligible to submit full papers. Submissions from others will not be processed.

All manuscripts must be submitted only through this website:
https://journals.eltai.in/conf2025/ Submissions via email or WhatsApp will not be accepted.

 

1. Responsibility of Authors

Before submission, authors must ensure the following:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Permissions have been obtained for all third-party materials (e.g., photographs, tables, figures, datasets).
  • All authors listed on the submission have consented to be identified as authors.
  • Ethical approval has been secured where applicable, in accordance with the legal requirements of the country of research.

The Editorial Team reserves the right to desk-reject any submission that does not meet the minimum scholarly, formatting, or ethical standards outlined below.

 

2. Submission Requirements

Each submission must include the following three separate files:

(a) Blinded Manuscript

Must contain no identifying information and must follow the required Blinded Manuscript Format (Section 3). File name must be the Abstract Number assigned at acceptance.

(b) Author Bio-Sheet

Authors must fill in the official template available at https://cutt.ly/2towmDLp. (These details will appear in the final publication. Do not add any salutation to the name.)

(c) Turnitin Similarity Report

Mandatory for all submissions. Submissions without this file will be rejected during Desk Review.

 

3. Blinded Manuscript Format

All manuscripts must follow a strict blind-review format.

Required Sections

  1. Title of the Paper (no author information)
  2. Abstract (maximum 150 words)
  3. Keywords (4–5 keywords)
  4. Full Text
    • Introduction
    • Review of Literature
    • Methodology
    • Analysis / Discussion
    • Findings
    • Conclusion
  5. References
    • MLA (9th edition) for Literature papers
    • APA (7th edition) for ELT papers

Formatting Standards

  • Paper Size: A4
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line Spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 1 inch
  • Images: Must be in black and white
  • Graphs/Diagrams: Must be in editable format (Excel, PPT, vector)
  • Tables/Figures: Properly numbered and captioned according to MLA/APA
  • No author-identifying elements in text, captions, or metadata

 

4. Bibliographic and Referencing Standards

For Literature Papers (MLA)

  • Follow the MLA Handbook - 9th Edition.
  • Sample citation formats:
    Book:
    Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. Publisher, Year.
    Journal Article:
    Lastname, Firstname. “Title of Article.” Journal Name, vol., no., year, pp. xx–xx.

For ELT Papers (APA)

  • Follow the latest APA Publication Manual (7th Edition).
  • Sample citation formats:
    Journal Article:
    Lastname, A. A., & Lastname, B. B. (Year). Title of the article. Journal Title, volume(issue), page range.
    Book:
    Lastname, A. A. (Year). Title of book. Publisher.

 

5. AI & Plagiarism Policy

Similarity Limit

  • A similarity index of up to 10% (as per the Turnitin report) will be accepted.
  • A similarity index exceeding 10% will result in immediate rejection during the Desk Review stage.

Use of AI Tools

  • AI-generated content is strictly not permitted in the manuscript. Any section of the paper that is created or heavily drafted by AI will lead to rejection.
  • Permitted Use: AI tools may be used only for language editing, grammar refinement, proofreading, formatting assistance, or technical support in data visualisation (e.g., graph styling), provided the intellectual content and ideas originate from the authors.

 Mandatory Declaration

If AI tools are used for permitted purposes, authors must include a clear and specific declaration at the end of the manuscript (before the references), stating:

  • The exact AI tool(s) used
  • The specific purpose(s) for which the tool(s) were used
  • Assurance that no AI-generated content has been included in the conceptual or analytical parts of the paper

Example declaration format:

“AI tools were used solely for language editing and proofreading. No AI-generated content was used in the development of the ideas, analysis, or arguments presented in this manuscript.”

Failure to include this declaration, when AI assistance has been used, will lead to rejection.

 

6. Review Process

All submissions will undergo the following stages:

Level 1: Desk Review

Evaluation for completeness, formatting, academic merit, and ethical compliance.

Level 2: Peer Review

Assessment by a panel of referees for originality, methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field.

Level 3: Editorial Review

Final evaluation, editing, and approval by editors of the respective publication outlet.

Authors must be prepared to complete revisions within the stipulated deadlines.

 

7. Publication Process

Accepted papers will be considered for:

  • Scopus-indexed Edited Volumes (Peterlang)
  • Reflections (Scopus-indexed ELT journal)
  • Journal of English Language Teaching (JELT) — UGC CARE
  • Journal of Teaching and Research in English Literature (JTREL) — Peer-reviewed
  • ELTAI Peer-Reviewed Edited Book

Assignment to publication venues rests with the Editorial Board.

The publication timeline will take a minimum of 10 months, and may extend due to review and publisher timelines. Authors are requested to monitor their OJS dashboard and refrain from emailing for status updates.

 

8. Declaration

By submitting a manuscript, authors affirm that:

  • They were registered, attended, and presented at the ELTAI Annual Conference 2025.
  • No publication fee will be charged.
  • No complimentary print copies will be provided; copies may be purchased at a nominal cost.
  • All revision deadlines will be strictly followed.
  • They understand and accept the extended publication timeline.

Conference Proceedings Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to ensure that their submission complies with all of the following conditions. Submissions that do not meet these requirements will be rejected at the Desk Review stage.

  1. Eligibility: The submitting author registered for the conference, attended, and presented the paper at the 19ᵗʰ International & 55ᵗʰ Annual ELTAI Conference.
  2. Submission Platform: The manuscript is being submitted exclusively through the website https://journals.eltai.in/conf2025/ No submissions have been sent via email or WhatsApp.
  3. Required Files Uploaded (three separate files)
    • Blinded Manuscript (file name = Abstract Number)
    • Author Bio-Sheet using the official template available at https://cutt.ly/authorbio
    • Turnitin Similarity Report
  4. Blinded Manuscript Requirements
    • No author-identifying information is included in the manuscript, metadata, captions, or file name.
    • The manuscript includes: 
      • Title
      • Abstract (max. 150 words)
      • 4–5 Keywords
      • Full Text (Introduction to Conclusion)
      • References (MLA for Literature / APA for ELT)
  5. Formatting Standards
    • A4 size, Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing
    • Tables and figures numbered and captioned
    • Images in black and white
    • Graphs and diagrams in editable format (Excel/PPT/vector)
  6. Similarity and Ethics
    • The similarity index is 10% or below.
    • All permissions for third-party materials (images, tables, figures, datasets) have been obtained.
    • All listed authors have approved the submission and order of authorship.
  7. AI Use Declaration
    • No AI-generated content has been used.
    • If AI tools were used only for language editing, a formal AI declaration has been included at the end of the manuscript.
  8. Accuracy of Metadata
    • Title, abstract, keywords, and co-author details entered in the OJS system are accurate and complete.
  9. Commitment to Revision Timelines
    • The authors agree to complete all editorial or reviewer-requested revisions within the stipulated deadlines.
  10. Understanding of Publication Timeline
  • Authors understand that the publication process will take a minimum of 10 months and may extend depending on review and publisher timelines.

Authors who do not comply with the above requirements acknowledge that their submission may be rejected without review.
