Vol. 68 No. 5 (2026): September - October
The September–October 2026 issue of the Journal of English Language Teaching (Vol. 68, No. 5) contains eight research papers and a book review. The papers address various aspects of reading and writing in English language teaching. The topics include the teaching of reading through textbooks, students’ reading strategies, the use of literature circles to encourage learner autonomy, and common errors in the writing of secondary school students. Other contributions examine the use of digital media in writing instruction, e-portfolios for developing employability-related writing skills, and the application of social-emotional learning principles to ESL writing. One paper considers prompt-writing as a language-learning practice in the context of artificial intelligence. The issue also includes a review of a book on adult learning. The articles draw on different teaching contexts and research concerns, offering readers an opportunity to consider how reading and writing are taught, practised and assessed in English language classrooms.
